The News Media drives me crazy - yet I persist in watching and listening - changing from CNN to MSNBC, sometimes local news. There is actually more variety on the local news. But on CNN and MSNBC - they all report on the same thing - politics - the same story.
This week it's John Edward's indiscretions. One can change back and forth, even to Fox News, and it's the same subject. Somehow Obama and McCain have disappeared. This news is even two years old, folks! So he's surely not going to run for vice president. He prob. wasn't going to do that anyway.
It was unfortunate that he did what he did -- but (no excuse) apparently 50% of husbands do mess around. They might even do it when their wife has cancer or is going through the "change" and is a little crazy.
Why do we collectively have to dwell on this one piece of "breaking news." John Edwards said that no one could blame him any more than he has blamed himself - and I'm sure this is true. So let's go on to more important news.
We (the nation?, the media) are being overly invasive, perhaps especially to John Edward's wife. I think of people who are the "Breaking News" of the moment and wonder if they ever turn on the TV while whole panels of reporters are conjecturing over their every thought and activity. I despair!
